Diary of a Kindle junkie caffeine monster: Guilty Pleasures...

Carolyn Tann Starr 2011

Diary of a Kindle junkie caffeine monster: Guilty Pleasures...

We book club bookies call it "The Pale Demon," but it's really a raspberry chocolate mocha frapuccino grande with whip cream and extra mocha on top (silly grin). It all started when six of us ordered the same thing while holding our Kim Harrison books, backpacks and e-readers in line. My girlfriend rattles off her order first because she actually fiends for coffee on a daily basis (and I'm really a clueless, lemon loaf munching, Tazo tea drinking blogger who happily follows her foodie-lead and will push her ahead of me in the line in a heartbeat - LOL). Sometimes, when it comes to coffee, I actually don't know what I'm doing order-wise, especially when my friends are not with me in Starbucks but don't tell them I said so (they already have big, social media bobble-heads - evil grin). ;-)

So, anywayz, her boyfriend goes,"Make it two." Chicka behind the counter looks at our books and goes "Another Pale Demon?" so I say, "Yeah, that sounds good, make it three..." The pregnant pause should have been a big hint, but I was too busy having a brain fart to notice...

Dumb a$$ that I am, I'm referring to the coffee instead of our books because I don't realize she's asking a reading question. I thought it was a coffee question since we were all standing around waiting in line to order. Next thing I know my bookies are piping up,"Make it four." "I want a Pale Demon too." "Six please..." and then the giggles start because silly with my crew of friends is always contagious. Light-bulb goes off on number six but by then the faux pas damage has been done (Translated: I was supposed to rattle off the friggin' ingredients, not nick name the damn drink - sigh).

Being a good sport, Chicka hooked us all up with the same order, laughing with us about my mistake while asking about our books and how our writing is coming along. Now, every time we see her working behind the coffee bar we start grinning like mischievous little kids and quip we want a Pale Demon (like the naughty, frapuccino fiending book club blogging buddies we are). She knows who we are because sometimes we're in Starbucks all-freaking-day playing in social media and/or obsessing over writing our books on our laptops.

We actually order this drink a lot. It's tasty. If I drink three of these in one day my insides start to twitch and quiver and I don't sleep much when I get home (LOL). My solution? Drink two and hoard the breakfast receipt-coupons so I can get 'em for 2 bucks a pop after 2 pm. Yeah, you can do that if you're smart enough to have the writing workshop meetings in the morning and book club after lunch (LOL).

Note to readers: Hosting book club in Starbucks is turning us into happy little Kindle junkie caffeine monsters (who write waaaay too much - evil grin). It also makes us a wee bit more snarky if we spend more than four hours together without rotating social media peeps (LOL). It's easy to stay fresh if the conversations change. The fun thing about hanging out with other writers, artists and musicians is the fact that we can pretty much twist our schedules around to work anywhere we please. That means we can schedule different pockets of people to come and go at different times while we take over our section of the store.

Holding book club in Starbucks on Skype also means we can drag a whole bunch of people along for the ride if they can't make it. Right now we're lurking on Kim Harrison's Dama Box. We are fascinated with the idea of Kimi asking her editor Diana Gill to do a guest blog on the Drama Box (but she's kind of reluctant to bother D.G. because her editor is very busy - sigh). We're really curious about her editor because Kim compliments her a lot.

Then there's the Vicki Pettersson angle. Kim and Vicki share the same editor. Vicki says a lot of nice things about Diana Gill as well. How cool is that? VERY!!!

Two minutes later my mouth is falling open because I realize she's also Jocelynn Drake's editor. OMG - I'm having a Vicki Pettersson "Jay-sus" moment because Kim, Vicki and Jocelynn are my three fave urban fantasy divas. I'm sitting here wondering just how many of my favorite authors does Diana Gill influence???

Hmm... Makes me kinda wish I didn't promise Kim Harrison I'd behave (very melodramatic and oh so sorry sigh - LOL). I will be doing a digital tap dance up to the behaving-line and become a link monster regarding answering the above question tomorrow. After all, behaving is relative (LOL) but we do so love our girls, so the gang and I plan on doing something useful, productive and constructive with our time. We're in audit mode going through our Kindle collections trying to gather the D.G. editor information (which is a wee bit painful because me and my bookies really are a bunch of download monsters - sigh).

My fave three authors directly influenced 168 (and counting) book club purchases... You do realize when we pick an author we buy everything available that they've written. It's a big deal to make our reading list because if someone influences us to pick a writer that sucks we will flame them mercilessly because we purchased EVERYTHING. To a bunch of readers trying to learn how to write good books are a serious investment. We re-read them and try to make the most out of our writing workshops. Now we're all sitting over here wondering if that kind of means maybe their editor has been inadvertently pulling our reading strings just a wee bit (LOL)... Lots of fascinating speculation in progress regarding that hypothesis (after all, Chicka is in charge of our fave writers - how did we miss the friggin' editor angle? Duh and double duh?).

Read the acknowledgments by Jocelynn Drake on her first book Nightwalker... Book club has now turned into a "who in the world is Diana Gill and how do we get her doing guest blogs with our fave authors without pissing anyone off" secret squirrel meeting (LOL).

Now I personally have this blogging itch I wanna scratch because my fave three urban fantasy authors have me mad curious about their very talented editor (seriously so - LOL). I've been doing a lot of lurking online reading away and I swear there are so many people who like Diana Gill (and compliment her) it's like discovering The Ultimate Uber-Editor. Yeah... that post is already in progress because she's like this stealth-ninja cranking out the really cool books with the fun writers (LOL). We really wanna figure out who she is...

Chicka is under-the-radar-fascinating... Oh, the things I could say here but wont (LOL). Yeah... that's a whole other blog post waiting to be unleashed on the unsuspecting (LOL). Don't be nervous... we really like her work and a hypothetical (one day before I die) Diana Gill guest blog on the Drama Box would be mad cool, eh? We Kimi fans hope it really happens one day... (like, before my 5 year old makes me a grandma - seriously, no pressure D.G. - LOL).

Yeah - I know - I am soooo easily amused (LOL). If you're new to reading my blog, besides conducting dangerous experiments with coffee and sugar while periodically obsessing over really great books, teasing my social media peeps on their digital turf is a fave guilty pleasure...

We are soooo teasing K.H. in the morning about being such a sweetie pie and never wanting to bother busy people. I, however, am down with the Penelope Trunk school of thought where I'm not adverse to asking for exactly what I want. Translated: "Come on, cyber-social-media-somebodies: Ask her..."

FOR THE RECORD: I did not FB direct message anybody, so don't start (I am kinda sorta behaving Kimi... somewhat anyway - LOL). ;-)

Oh, come on people - teasing is what I do... Bsides, behaving is relative (like that whole beauty being in the eye of the beholder thing - LOL).

Semi-serious note: We'll try not to pester anyone too much about this subject but we have to mess with Kimi at least twice. Once is never enough with mad fun social media peeps (and she's a lot of fun people - silly grin).

Pssst... THEY ALL ARE (LOL). Have you read their blogs and books? OMG - you guys need to go read all three authors and buy some books. Once you do you'll understand why we're so fascinated with them and have morphed into Kindle junkies (LOL). They are simply amazing... We are very happy being addicted to their work - which also means we have to brag about their editor and give her mad props. We're working on our version of the digital high-five for tomorrow night's mischief because Diana Gill freaking rocks. Bite me for deciding to fan an editor (LOL).

Do you know who else is mad fun to read and possibly become a fan of? Amy DeZellar, Claire Legrand, A Pang, R Mead, Jaye Wells, (we definitely insist you follow Jaye Wells - it's complicated - just do it - trust us she's flippin' hilarious on-line) and Penelope Trunk. This is just the tip of our must have book club list of interesting people to read. We'll fill you guys in on more social media peeps to discover and follow tomorrow.

Start with them. They are the best guilty pleasure mad fun bit of unusual reading ever (LOL). ;-)

P.S. Amy is new on Facebook so go say hello to my fabulous FB peep and stay tuned for a very cool "Dating Amy" giveaway. If you missed the Wordy C memo: my tweet-peep Claire is doing a cool contest giveaway for Bunheads right now. Have fun with it! Go follow some cool authors (and a very interesting editor - LOL). ;-)

What does @MerrieDestefano @TheHotLibrarian and @JenBJones have in common? Mad fun bantering Skilz!

Jocelynn Drake Invasion of the Urban Fantasy Book Babes

Vicki Pettersson and Jocelynn Drake, two of my favorite urban fantasy divas both follow Merrie Destefano on Twitter. Somewhere along the line I got used to seeing Merrie pop up in my tweet-stream so I eventually started following her too. She's mad fun to lurk around (and we all know how easily amused I am, so I crave entertainment and get it when I can - silly grin). If you follow Merrie you'll discover interesting little tid bits like dropping a spatula in the cat box might be grounds for having to move and the fact that "Horrible Bosses was better than I expected. First third was pretty raunchy, after that it was hilarious! My rating 8 out of 10."

Yeah... Horrible Boses is now on my bucket list of stuff to see. Thank you, Merrie. BTW, if not for the cat banter, I wouldn't have discovered Jenny B Jones and The Hot Librarian (yeah, I started following them both this morning - LOL). Jenny has a "zippy blog." The Hot Librarian's blog is "like licking honey off a knife." While Merrie's blog is "the intersection of fantasy, science fiction, mystery and romance."

According to Merrie: "If you've ever wondered why authors suddenly become invisible and don't post very often on their blogs, it's almost always because they're working on a book. That's what I've been doing and that's why I haven't posted much lately (sorry)."

Holy cow! I'm thinking, bummer, I blog waaaaaaay too much. I should be writing/working on my book instead of constantly playing across social media accounts (but I'd miss you guys if I goofed off-line too long - LOL). ;-)

Being the unrepentant book pimp that I am of course I'm gonna have something to say about their work: I REALLY LIKE IT (LOL). I don't do book spoilers so go click the links and start exploring because good books and interesting authors need to be experienced. These tweet-peeps are very cool.

Pssst... Merrie's snarky and Jenny's sassy so if you want a good laugh from a book when you least expect it these will do quite nicely. The Hot Librarian's blog is a trip. Get ready to fall (silly grin). ;-)

If you think my blog is a wee bit quirky but you keep reading me anyway, then you have to head on over to The Hot Librarian. T-H-L will give you a new, personal tour on what the term quirky really means (LOL). Yeah... we can definitely hang in cyberspace and not be bored (LOL). Her labels/tags at the end of the posts are just as much fun as her entire on-line musings (evil grin). Have you read them? I'm still reading them. You really should stop reading me and go over there... Lurking there has been one of the high-lights of my sleep-over at Emelia's. We're gonna blog together later tonight about girlie-girlie day. It's a two-fer still in progress because Em brought a Playstation 3 last night and we stayed up waaaaaaay past our bedtimes yesterday (or should I say TODAY - LMAO). ;-)

Update: Amy's on Facebook

The best part of social media is the instant access it grants you to the businesses and people you enjoy. Instant access can be priceless if you don't abuse it. It can also be very efficient and effective if the person you need to reach is on-line while you are. Sometimes, we get so used to playing in Facebook and Twitter that we just assume everyone we like is everywhere we are and/or love to be. Today, I was reminded that vague social media assumption was simply not true with a fave-author tweet-peep but sometimes if you ask you might actually get what you want...

Previously, I wrote a post about lurking on interesting blogs and suggested people should follow Amy (as well as other interesting tweet-peeps) because her book Dating Amy: 50 True Confessions of a Serial Dater is flipping hilarious. What a fun, snarky read. We're still having a field day in book club with her work. The book club post actually lead to several readers asking me for Amy's Facebook link because I left it out of my blog post. It appears some thought I was remis in my blogging duties for not including it because they are not on Twitter (LOL). When I logged in to Facebook to look a couple of my fun peeps instant chatting me also asked for the missing link.

I'm thinking, Hmmmm I really need to go back and update my blog post. I start seriously poking around FB and I can't find it.

Riiiiiiiiiiight... Picture that stellar Wordy C computer illiterate moment because she's a really cool writer and my brain refused to wrap around the fact Amy didn't have a business/fan page for us toplay on. Remember our Kim-Stream habit? Yeah, well, we want an Amy-Stream (LOL). Not wanting to admit my failure in un-earthing an Amy-Stream to my social media peeps, I decide to send Amy a tweet asking for a link to her official Facebook author page. After all, that's what I did when I couldn't figure out how to find Jaye Well's official author page on Facebook (LOL). We still giggle over Jocelynn Drake's Invasion of the Urban Fantasy Book Babes. Very cool FB page name. We're still  goofing and spoofing about "book babes," but I digress...

Amy tweets back and promptly tells me she's not on Facebook.

My response? "OMG - I am rarely speechless but damn if you didn't just make my mouth form a lopsided O (LOL). Get that account open for fans."

Guess what? Amy's a good sport and is about to make her social media peeps very happy. She's gonna open a Facebook account so we can have a digital home to play in and keep up with her in conversations exceeding a micro-tweet. How cool is that? VERY!!!

Amy's Twitter tweets can be mad fun so go follow her. BTW, we may start high-jacking the #badauthor Twitter feed regarding our writing workshop antics because very few tweet-peeps are using the hash-tag. We think it could be mad fun to use, eh? (Thank you Amy - silly happy grin).

P.S.: Jason Falls stated earlier this year that, "Too many companies looking for proof that social media marketing works tend to look at the wrong things. “How much money will I make?” “How many new sales will I have?” Both are frequent questions from executives and business owners investigating social media marketing as tactics for their businesses. And they’re not bad questions, just sometimes the wrong questions."

Today, my readers and social media peeps asked the right business fan question and I simply passed it along directly to the author. I bet Amy gets a whole new crew of readers/fans because of it. She's got eight writing fans hanging out in Starbucks with me right now (LOL). I make nine... Wait until the rest of the bookies find out what she's doing. We love responsive authors. It makes reading their books even more fun because we love lurking on their blogs and social media accounts to discover what they're doing.

Yeah, I will share the link and update my blog posts when I get Amy's new FB page link. In the meantime go read Dating Amy. It's mad funny! ;-)

A Pang? R Mead? Blame it on Jaye Wells and Wicked Little Pixie (LOL)

Carolyn Tann Starr 2011

A Pang? R Mead? Blame it on Jaye Wells and Wicked Little Pixie (LOL)

It's not every day I almost choke to death on uncontrollable laughter, so I have to commemorate the auspicious occasion of my surviving Jaye Wells' wickedly delicious sense of humor by hipping you guys to how Richelle Mead and Allison Pang made our book club list today. Yeah... it's kinda mostly Jaye's fault because if I hadn't been choking on laughter from her blog post I might not have bothered Natasha about Mead or paid attention to the rest of the bookies later...

So, I'm out and about doing my usual social media thing: answering e-mail, playing in Facebook, video chatting on Skype, messing with Jango, laughing with my Twitter peeps when I eventually notice that word of mouth buzz is slowly building about a series of interesting urban fantasy books written by Mead and one by Pang. You need to understand that I've been on-line for over 12 hours straight, so while I'm hanging out flipping music having mad fun chatting with my virtual and brick and mortar peeps, it's actually a significant statement when I say I that I noticed the name Richelle Mead consistently popping up during my social media and digital divide wanderings. Allison Pang was one of those happy accidents when snarky banter runs amok and your blogging buddies get distracted with the phrase "Word Whore" (LOL).

The first time I noticed Mead on-line was a few weeks ago on Twitter in a brief @VickiPettersson chat, so I followed her back then because I love fun author conversations and Vicki can be mad fun on-line with her links, Twitter tweets and re-tweets. Tip: Definitely go read Vicki Pettersson novels because she's mad cool, very talented, snarky and don't forget to follow her on Twitter. You can also check out her blog at  http://vickipettersson.com

I actually set aside time to devote keeping up with my fave authors and other past-times, plus I also pay attention to who they like.

Even though Richelle Mead is a Vicki-social-media-peep, this is the part of the show where I confess that I don't habitually lurk in Richelle's Twitter stream. Yes, I'm an unrepentant social media lurker. It's what I do (among other things) but I can't lurk everywhere so I have to be really picky (grin).

The next time I paid attention to Richelle Mead's name, I remember discovering a bunch of book-tweets where some twitter-peeps were posting what page they were on in her novels. I also remember thinking that they seemed kind of excited about posting their reading progress but I didn't really pay it much attention UNTIL TODAY when @WickedLPixie tweeted she was on page 367 of 432 of a book I didn't have (Bloodlines) but several reviewers seemed to. That kind of flipped my curiousity switch... I really like Wicked Little Pixie. Natasha also has mad clout with my fave bookies. We all lurk on her blog...

That, coupled with the fact Richelle's name was fresh in my mind from a blogspot end of post embed for her novel "Succubus Blues" on a flippin' hilarious blog post by Jaye Wells entitled "Get A Room." got me interested in checking her out. P.S. If you missed the 411 on Jaye and Sabina Kane click the link and catch up because she's part of our mandatory book club reading too (LOL).

Normally I don't remember specific link-embeds on singular blog posts but Jaye Wells has a lot to do with this new, quirky phenomena of mine. Damn if Jaye didn't leave me choking on my lemon loaf, snorting Tazo tea all red faced and in tears laughing my a$$ off in Starbucks over "Get A Room." BTW, it's a very neat trick to get black people to turn red... just sayin' (LOL).

Once my girlfriend finished administering the Heimlich Maneuver (yeah - Jaye really did make me choke on my food from her freaking post - LOL) I discovered my Skype peeps were quite entertained with the subsequent chaos that ensued and started sharing the "Get A Room" link. Seems kind of stupid for me not to, especially since we've been spoofing about this event for hours on end (LOL).

FYI: No one bothered to call 911 - WTF??? - however, I was almost a very interesting YouTube (until I threatened 'em with ___. Did I mention I have a b*tch switch that I'm not afraid to use? I do you know - LOL).

Of course I subscribed to "the league of reluctant adults" soon after. How could I not? Jaye has a gift for death by laughter (how many people can attest to that fact? LOL) so I want to see what else they've got going on over there. Richelle is part of that blogging crew so that kind of tipped the scales in her favor as well. I confess I want to learn that particular skill set and sort of wanna be a snarky mini-Jaye with a liberal twist of Kim-Joce-Vicki plot/pacing. I already have the dark and twisty humor but this is waaaaay different. I'm kinda in awe and haven't figured out how to articulate what it feels like (sigh).

I can definitely say death-by-blog is kinda interesting to experience when the danger passes and you start spoofing with your well meaning but medically inept, uber-geeky friends who in a comical panic courageously band together to save you while your geriatric neighbors (and some of your virtual streaming-live friends) watch the drama unfold like it's an episode of reality TV (LOL).

Irony is realizing the only person who knows first aid is the freaking choking victim (what's up with that Starbucks?) but I digress (LOL). ;-)

Since Jaye had that link to Richelle on her post that almost whacked my blogging a$$, I got a second opinion from a respected book addict who reads Mead (because I was and am clueless) and specifically asked @WickedLPixie about Richelle. Chicka said read her so we're reading her (LOL).

Kim Harrison recently gave us a great talking point for our book club off her blog about learning how to write while we read: "I liked re-reading as much as a first run through, unaware at the time that I was picking up a hundred different techniques and skills from vocabulary, pacing, sentence structure, character development, foreshadowing techniques and who knows whatnot. I still tell people who want to write for a living to read a lot..." We Kimi fans read like crazy (LOL). My fave Kimi writing advice post is this one: http://kimharrison.wordpress.com/2011/06/24/an-open-letter-to-i-am-special-writers/

If you pay attention, you can learn a lot from your tweet-peeps. BTW, if you want a great place to lurk you can read Natasha's "Writings of a Wicked Book Addict" blog at http://wickedlilpixie.com

Carolyn Tann Starr 2011

Pssst... go follow @RichelleMead on Twitter and check out http://www.richellemead.com

Keeping with the Kim - Vicki - Jocelynn bookie tradition of respecting the coveted good author nod, we're pretty happy that the "reluctant adult" bloggers have a new member: Allison Pang. If not for them we'd have no idea who she is and what it means to be a Word Whore (LOL). Yeah, it's all Jaye's fault we're buying her book too because we discovered Allison following Jaye around cyberspace (aint fans grand? LOL).

Yup. Allison's on my Android in the Kindle app already. What can I say? I'm a Curious George kinda gal and can't wait to see what she brings to the urban fantasy table. Chicka made book club for making us laugh with her blog posts and we're looking forward to seeing what else she comes up with in the future.

A Brush of Darkness looks very interesting (P.S. nice cover AP but the guys want guns and knives with their hot chicks so they don't look bad reading your books - LOL).

Right now Allison's Word Whore blogging has us currently cracking up because we're a bunch of Google Whores and think there's mad irony in chasing a Word Whore... What can we say? We're silly that way. Aint social media grand? Where else can those terms actually have technical search engine optimization ramifications? We've been having a field day lurking on that website (and calling each other VERY interesting names in Skype - LOL). ;-)

Yeah... it's true... we computer geeks who blog are sooooo easily amused by the darndest things (LOL). ;-)

Go subscribe to http://reluctantadults.blogspot.com if you want to be just as entertained as we are and follow RM and JW around.

Don't forget to not eat or drink while reading Jaye Wells - OMG - she needs a warning label regarding laughter being hazardous to your friggin' health (LMAO). Do follow the very cool Allison Pang (@allison_pang on twitter) plus at http://www.heartofthedreaming.com

Carolyn Tann Starr 2011 Jaye Wells

Careful... If you ask I'm gonna tell you to follow @JayeWells. Here's why...

I have a thing for the fabulous Sabina Kane series Jaye Wells created. Irony is until a few weeks ago I had no idea who my recent tweet-peep was but bouncing between three book clubs means I have to keep reading books and dragging poor unsuspecting victims members/readers along for the ride (LOL). If you're into kick-a$$ chicks with issues, moody attitudes and witty banter (like I am) you're gonna really loooooove this series. I started with Red-Headed Stepchild July 26th because @VickiPettersson did a re-tweet letting her tweet-peeps know about a four day Amazon special that had us bookies downloading that puppy into our Kindle apps as fast as we could click two links (LOL).

For those of you who wanted to know why I didn't blog on the 28th it's because I was too busy happily burning through Violet Tendencies, The Mage In Black and Green Eyed Demon (LOL). Finished them today and put them all on our mandatory beach reading list for this week end (evil grin). I'm betting my bookies get hooked on Jaye just like I did. The guys are really starting to get their urban fantasy groove on as well. These aren't sissy-prissy books people. They're a fun, vampy ride so don't let the sexy chicks gracing the covers fool you into passing on a good read. ;-)

Being a book hound and unrepentant speed reader means I have to amuse myself while I wait for Kim, Vicki and Jocelynn to release more material (sigh). I actually go into withdrawal when I can't read my fave authors (and enjoy re-reading their series to feed my book worm addiction - LOL). It helps that they are active in social media and routinely blog so fans can keep up with their projects (and get their questions answered). If one of them gives a thumbs up to another author I tend to take them very seriously and download everything the author has before I decide to do a book review or not. I'm not into spoilers which is why I give you guys the links (LOL).

A good book should be experienced because reading is very subjective. My fave parts of a book may not be your fave parts (especially since I have a quirky, dark and twisty sense of humor - LOL). Jaye had me cracking up over the cat/demon antics (among other things) in Red-Headed Stepchild so at some point during the first read I had already made up my mind to burn through all of her books and discover what other mischief her mind could cook up. Pssst... chicka is brilliant in very devious ways. I get why Vicki likes her (LOL). You will too and should read her books in order... just sayin' (LOL). ;-)

If you're new to my blog you may have missed the fact that I routinely do the virtual urban fantasy kow tow to my three fave urban fantasy divas. Being a Kim Harrison, Vicki Pettersson and Jocelynn Drake fan has lots of neat benefits which includes (a) them really being them writing in their social media accounts and (b) being turned on to really cool urban fantasy authors to read who are just as real and authentic as they are. Jaye spends most of her time in Twitter but you can find her on Facebook if you look. :-)

As usual, all roads lead back to the Kim-Stream (because she started pointing me in the right reading direction at RWANYC when she sent me to go find and read Vicki and said cool things about Jocelynn and Vicki in her blog comments - LOL). You can almost build an urban fantasy author family tree with our book club Kindle selections based upon who these three women compliment (LOL). We're the virtual fans from hell who read, blog, read some more, argue, laugh then pick a book or series to go viral on (poor Jaye now has the Vicki-Joce-Kimi pack hounding her virtual twitter heels - LOL). ;-)

Soooooooo ya' wanna know more about what the we heart Jaye Wells fuss is all about? Start by taking a peek at http://jayewells.com where you can lurk on her cool blog, find out how to pre-order Silver Tongued Devil on Amazon.com, read Chapter One of THE MAGE IN BLACK (Sabina Kane Book Two) and Chapter One of GREEN-EYED DEMON (Sabina Kane Book Three). Then go follow @JayeWells on Twitter and go have some urban fantasy fun sharing her work with your own friends. Chicka will actually answer you back so don't be a twitter pest if you do join the fan ranks.

BTW, her Amazon biography is kind of a fun blurb: "After several years as a magazine editor and freelance writer, Jaye Wells finally decided to leave the facts behind and make up her own reality. Her overactive imagination and life-long fascination with the arcane and freakish blended nicely with this new career path. Her Sabina Kane urban fantasy series is a blend of dark themes, grave stakes and wicked humor. Jaye lives in Texas with her saintly husband and devilish son."

Starbucks is closing. Book Club is done. We're packing up to go home and burn through all things Jeaniene Frost. We're saving her for Monday (LOL). ;-)
