It's been a while since I planted one of these in the Kim-Stream so I'm gonna hang out on the bed with the kids and draw a bunch of cartoons. We're doing Tamwood and Morgan tonight. I'm hoping for a quiet evening where I get bossed around by my 5 and 10 year olds (LOL). The best sketch gets to go to Deviant Art so I have to at least draw ten of 'em. Will give you guys a sneak peek tomorrow... if they survive the wee people... they have crayons ( we're sharing a sketch pad - LOL). ;-)
P.S. Composed something really cool for a fave writer. I'm trying to figure out the graphics for the next book club review. We are soooo talking about A Perfect Blood when I get finished playing with my pens and electronic drums (evil grin). ;-)

I've been locked away for an entire month editing my book. Obsessively focused on the task at hand means I've been in all work no play mode. It freaked a lot of people out because I'm a Google Whore and Social Media Butterfly so going off-line cold turkey forced a lot of peeps to face their Internet addiction to my blog (and inadvertently generated a massive amount of e-mail regarding what's going on in my backyard - LOL).
Yes, I missed you guys madly (and will do a blog answering most of your Life With Wee People e-mails). I lurked silently when I cheated from the self-imposed ban because this I wanna be a author thing is a serious goal requiring an amazing amount of concentration. I love my virtual home but in order for me to meet my deadlines I had to stay away from Club Chaos long enough to keep my writing team happy. Now I have to please my beta readers and editor... (happy sigh)
I formed a brand new corporation with one million shares. What we're going to do with them has kept me busy (and a wee bit stressed - silly grin). Luckily for me I earned my break from writing/organize, then run a new corporation-hell and am starting my vacation so I can enjoy the 16 city Kim Harrison book tour for A Perfect Blood.
If you want to know what all the Kimaholic excitement is about read the first five chapters of A Perfect Blood here. By the time you finish them you'll be stalking Amazon waiting for the book to download because the 9AM wait for Barnes & Noblewill just be too damn painful (LOL). I have a four pack of Starbucks to keep me wired and awake for tonight's amazing speed read. Yup. There will be a Book Club Bookie review when I'm done. I'm staring at my Kindle app waiting for my Android to load. I have no control when the damn thing will release so I'm a bookaholic twitching in electronic withdrawal drooling in anticipation for the wild ride to come. ;-)
The best part about being a die hard Kim Harrison fan? Chicka never disappoints when it comes to blowing your paranormal loving mind and she keeps getting better... Check out Pale Demon while you wait for your electronic pre-order to materialize. If you want to be in Hardcover Heaven The Hollow Insider and Blood Work are simply gorgeous... If you're serious about discovering the wonderful world of The Hollows you should start at the beginning and read them in order. I've read them all multiple times because each time I make a run through I learn something new about the way her mind works. She's bloody brilliant regarding plotting and pacing. It's a fun series to read and I'm soooo into irony and snarky dialog by kick a$$ sexy characters. I'm a very happy Kim Harrison addict (and finally figured out how to draw pixies - oh joy! - new cartoons coming to a blog post near you - LOL). She's not just a great writer, Kim is also a good sport when it comes to letting fans play in The Kim-Stream.

Because they have excellent urban fantasy paranormal taste (and I hate wasting money on books that whomp - silly grin). If you really want to know what's going on you should read the Jane Yellowrock novels in order. It' a great series. I've got everything except Raven Cursed because it's not out until January 2012. ;-)

Yup. Still sleeping with my electronics and blogging in my pajamas while on vacation in Texas (happy sigh). Cooked up a new project with a fun social media peep. We have Book Club Blues Vol 02 almost completed so I'm diving right in to Book Club Blues Vol 03 by devoting the entire album to my gal pal author Lynn Rush.

Yesterday, I went with Melody Botting on a hike by the lake for a photo shoot and managed to get an album cover out of the session. The pictures made me think about Lynn's book Wasteland and by the time I got back with Melodious I realized I wanted to create an album for Lynn instead of another author tribute track. Of course I had to tease her about this in Twitter. We're digital triplets with Kendall Grey plus there's the "nanotramps" issue (LOL) so there's lots of banter and NaNoWriMo conversations going on over in Twitter (evil little grin).

I love teasing my social media peeps. They are so much fun on-line (LOL). Right now I'm fooling around with author tribute tracks for Jaye Wells, Jeannie Holmes and Kim Harrison. They write amazingly fun page turners in the urban fantasy genre that are fabulous books to read. I frequently re-read them because they are highly entertaining and my only fan-gripe is that they don't write fast enough (because I want more books, more books, more books - LOL). Yes, it's true - I'm a bookaholic and authors are the world creating rock stars that inflame my imagination and keep me giggling in social media on a weekly basis. I love chatting with them and peeking at how their day is going and will squeal if they are coming to town (LOL). It's part of my "Evil Author" fan-girl routine. I'm an UF-newbie-writer in evil-author-training so I study the work of the really cool social media savvy writers (but we shall save that bit of writing mischief for a Readers and Ritas 2011 TX blog post and NaNoWriMo - silly grin).
Book Club Blues (Vol.02) is up on deck with 4 new singles inspired by my virtual gal pals. There are currently 12 tracks waiting to be mastered so the plan is approximately 16 tunes for the second tribute album. We had a blast creating the first album so this series is going to continue as long as I have writing pals who don't mind the musical spoofs (silly grin). I'm looking forward to unleashing some Amy DeZellar musical mischief. She wrote the flipping hilarious book Dating Amy (LOL) and I'm not through with messing with the lovely Claire Legrand either (her mom is in remission from cancer so click the link and send them some social media love).
FYI: Turns out Amazon lets musicians have videos on their artist pages so now I've gotta create some video book pimping mischief with a little help from my social media author friends. I enjoy being an Amazon affiliate and am an unrepentant Kindle download junkie (and Kimaholic - silly grin). Good authors feed my reading addictions and I have 68 on my reading list. Fun is you can trace almost a third of them directly back to Kim Harrison (happy sigh) with Vicki Pettersson and Jocelynn Drake macking out the other sections of the list (LOL). The joke in my neighborhood Starbucks is I bow to all things Kim-Vicki-Jocelynn - which is kinda true (silly grin). They're mega talented, madfun and keep me intrigued with urban fantasy reading/writer suggestions. I've made some amazing friends as a direct result of following them around cyberspace. Example: I am now a digital triplet. I used to be a cyber-twin but Kendall Grey and Lynn Rush both adopted me (so I need more glitter for our virtual literati pick axes - wicked little grin).
Cool is I now have the dummy guides for all those special effects I need to learn how to use. Looking forward to filming in TX so I can experiment with my digital editing decks. As usual, my kids are the boss of me on the Book Club Blues (Vol.02) project. Stephen, the Minion Blur has been keeping me very busy with my gorgeous gal pals (happy sigh). Shorty picks people to play with by their blog embeds and spankin' book covers. He thinks every single one of them are beautiful. I agree. Pssst... They have intellectually drop dead gorgeous minds too so they are just as beautiful within as without. We love reading and playfully messing with them. Betcha if you try reading their books you'll fall in love with them too (unless you don't like kick a$$ females - then you may want to smack me for making you read adventurous paranormal books with wicked plot pacing twists and fun, snarky dialog - LOL). ;-)
Did I mention I really love being a Jaye Wells fan? Besides being mad cool as a person (and a Vicki twit-hook-up), her Sabina Kane character inspired a few fun musical tracks across both projects. I'm looking forward to spending some time with them at Readers and Ritas. Nothing like snacking and cracking jokes with your fave people, eh? I'm sitting at Jaye's table (happy sigh) and Vicki Pettersson will be there (silly grin) so between the two of them I probably wont know how to act (mischievous grin).
Yes, it's true, I am a squealing fan-girl of all my fave authors. They give the cartoons in my head something fun to do. Reading really good books trigger little movies in my imagination and sometimes I pick a fave spot and illustrate it with music (and cartoons - LOL). ;-)
One of my fave Tweople authors launched a new website for fans to play on: http://ninjapeas.blogspot.com My 5 year old and I have been fooling around on Skype and shorty insisted the Three Ninja Peas needed a blog song so we've had a bit of studio mischief together. Stephen the Minion Blur is pleased... I'm still laughing over this because Little Dude has gone keyboard-retro (silly grin). He likes organs and the electric piano. He says I have to write beach music for the Ninja Peas... I think it was the pink paint and Tour Guide Barbie crack (wicked little grin). Seems he knows who Beach Barbie is (and likes her - melodramatic sigh) but I digress... I have to post the rest of the wee people music (LOL). ;-)

Yes, I habitually read blogs out loud to the wee people like bed time stories (and frequently laugh with them over a whole bunch of stuff) so the boys know who all my fave authors are. They like social media and are visual learners. We have amazing Kim Harrison conversations because my kids like pixies (it's a Tinkerbell/Disney thing) and we lurk on everyones' websites together. Twitter is their new fascination. It's the floating pixels of familiar people (plus Shorty can't read but he is trying very hard) so I enjoy helping them navigate the twit-streams.
Noah finally got the KH Itchy Witch track out of me. My uber-geeky Youtube/Google-centric Autistic 9 year old has been trying to get me to create a whole album based on the Hollows. Now that I'm drooling over the Hollows Insider I just may musically spoof that puppy because the world book is full-color-fabulous and the cartoons in my head are having a field day learning all sorts of new details about the world of Rachel Morgan. It'll be mad fun to create something new while running amok since I'm packing up the Korg for my AR road trip. Melodious and I are going to have a ActiveRain Blogfest in TX (when I'm not being an autograph-hound fan-girl of Vicki Pettersson and Jaye Wells).

The Hollows Insider launched today. My gal pals are happy because I had an advanced autographed copy from Comic Con and they have been drooling over my book for days (LOL). Tonight Kim Harrison was at Schuler Books & Music (2820 Towne Center Blvd Lansing MI ) "to celebrate" and then she will be at Nicolas (2513 Jackson Av, Ann Arbor, MI) next Tuesday.
Kim is bringing: "a bunch of Early to Death, Early to Rise Madison books to give away with each Hollows Insider sold (until supplies last, but we’ve got a bunch). Don’t make me take these back home with me!!). These will be the first edition Hollows Insiders with the glow in the dark covers..."
We have a funeral to attend but keep looking at each other about next Tuesday... Hmm...
