Three Open Houses Later...

My first of three open houses for today was in Roosevelt. The listing just had the facts with no description to stir my imagination. It did have an interesting price range starting at $500 and ending in the early $200K range so of course I just had to grab a hot buyer and drive us out there. I had never seen a home listed in a range starting at $500. How could I not go? (LOL). In sum and substance, we should not have went (ROTFLMAO).

My buyer wasn't in the home a hot minute when she witnessed the broker get flip fly with the couple who walked in ahead of her. We never finished touring the home. She walked out because of the LB's behavior. We have no idea if he knew the couple or not. What she objected to was verbally disrespecting someone in front of a potential buyer who is a total stranger. Make that two strangers because I, her agent, never met any of them before and witnessed the conversation .

The sad thing is I raced to her home to pick her up, make damn sure we were going to be the first in the home, parked out front and had to call him because he wasn't on time for his O.H. Imagine my disappointment to discover the interior needed a lot of work and while I am trying to inspire a renovation have to suddenly watch all my schmoozing go to hell in a hand basket because he turned my buyer off. Dang. I left my kids shooting rockets in the park for this? Bummer...

My second open house was mad fun. I have never seen such a swanky, tasteful, stellar renovation since I started real estate. I was drooling over this co-op and actually b*tched out that I myself could not afford to buy it. Made me want to go out and get a "real job" (LMAO). If it were not unprofessional, I would have got on bended knee and begged my buyer to purchase this place just so I could come over and visit (ROTFL). Oh how I wish that were my listing. You guys would be watching a digital shrine erected to the place. I'd write new music and everything! (LOL) Talk about eye candy!!! I kept hearing Stephen the Minion Blur in my heard chirping, "that one!" "this one!" "mine, mine, mine, mine, MIIIIIIIINNNNE!"

If you are looking for an awesome two bedroom co-op in a neat building with nice porters and can spend $427K friggin' CALL ME already. Lets become  friends because I wanna come over and visit... A lot. Seriously... You have no idea (LMAO). :-)

My third O.H. was adorable. What a lovely place. However, my second O.H. has ruined me for all other co-ops and condos (LOL). I wonder how long it is going to take for me to change my mind. We all know how anal retentive I can be... Too bad hubby wont let me buy it. He's smart enough to know I would probably never move if I ever got my hands on it. It's that good. ;-)

C-

Wow, you had a busy day.

What's with Agent OH #2 being nasty to potential buyers?  I don't get it!

Oh what an adventure.  I just posted a "rant" about agents acting badly at open housese and it was suggested I check out your post!  Looks like these type of agents are not confined to NH.  Oh my!

Considering how much work and time goes into an open house you would think the agent would get his act together !

Sheila, number two was a sweetie, number one was the strange duck (LOL). I think he was trying to be clever but the woman he was talking with did not appear to get it so the conversation sort of went where it didn't need to go. Sometimes people get me and other times they don't. I have learned to pick and choose when and who to play with. He missed the mark on that one and my buyer high tailed it out of there stating he was not the type of person she wanted to do business with. You can not change a first impression easily. I had nothing else to go on about him so couldn't say anything at all except that I would take her back shopping for a home later after I got back on the computer and collected a few more confirmations. I was very disappointed and a bit surprised he would carry on that way at an O.H.

Joan, enjoyed your rant. Sometimes people have no idea how hard or long we have been working with our customers and clients and to trash another agent because they can not attend regardless of the circumstances is ridiculous.

Hey Big Brother! Gotta get my buyers in their houses. I want to go on vacation in TX and they are holding me in NY (LOL). I am a motivated agent. Gotta see the TX crew.  :-)

Bill, I second that thought. Seriously so! It does take a lot of work. :-)

Rebecca, so am I because there was a lot of potential there. I like rehabs. I love imagining the possibilities a home has to offer. :-)

It makes no sense to be nasty to anyone, but especially a potential buyer??

I've been in a few house like your second one, just wishing that I'd hit the lottery and be able to come back.

Your writing is really great! I like the terms you use: Flip fly and Friggin and Mad fun! Great adjectives (They are adjectives, right?) I also use friggin and how about freakin? it's used much like friggin!
