An uberMental Branding Joyride: Some Things Just Need To Be Seen At Night...
Sometimes a picture truly is worth a thousand words... If you want to get a fresh perspective of the common things around you sometimes you need to make a date with yourself to revisit familiar places at night. If the area has architecturally interesting buildings, you can capture some stunning eye candy for your blogs and other websites.
My critics are 7 and 3, so if I get a cool response I know I am on the right track. My fave moment is when Stephen says, "Ooooooo... shiny..." It takes a lot to get my 3 year old kid to say that. Here are the Localism.com future Outside Blog Minion Report cover selections from the little minions who should be in bed but are not (LOL). I shall be writing about these locations later. If it warms up I'll take the shorties with me to get some updated shots. You can never have too many photographs of your fave areas and babies tend to appreciate the reminders of where they have been when they get older. To wee ones, the hunt for eye candy is like taking mini-vacations to enjoy a mental spa day (LOL).
Newbie Rule: NEVER leave home without your digital cameras. You may miss a unique moment to create your own mental spa day for your blog post readers (LOL). It only takes a moment to capture a second in time. It is up to you how many photographs you decide to take. I took 27 tonight, but the boys only selected a few. If they had selected just one I would have been very happy with that. :-)
I love my kids, so I may be a wee bit biased regarding their choices, but I think my shorties have excellent and eclectic tastes. Check these Manhattan night shots out:
We have a lot more to show you. This is just a tease. Sometimes, teasing your readers can be very effective (LOL). I bet you're wondering just how far I wandered in 27 degrees. Big hint: went from the East to the West side and zig zagged downtown. ;-)

We got my son a digital camera for Christmas, and I can't wait to start taking pictures with him for blogging. He loves the idea of marketing, as much as you can grasp that at 10, he thinks it is great.
Oooo! Shiny things! :) Guess I'm a magpie like Sharon Osbourne, without the Ozzy. Wait a minute, I forgot...I have a Shredder...but I digress.
Beautiful photos. Talent runs in your family!
C- Ah ...The bright city lights of NY. I really need to make a trip there. This definately is a teaser so I'll wait for more. I hope the guys didn't turn into popcicles in the ice box temps. You are so right about packing the camera in the car. I think I will just leave one in there at all times. The good opportunities alway show up when you're empt handed.
Ooooohhh...shiny! I'll come help you take night shots one of these days! Well, as long as we're home by 9! LOL
Goodness, C, you're even making ME miss NYC and I'm there all the time.......during the day! I haven't seen the lights in a while and in these temps I'm not sure I could stand it as long as you outside.
The shots are fabulous. I need to book a room there for a night when it gets just a little warmer :)
So much fun! I take my camera everywhere I go! I have some pretty amazing shots of things I would not have believed had I not seen it with my own eyes! I do need to start sharing them with people-great idea!
C - Those shots of Manhattan are so "shiny." :) New York is just beautiful at night...I never leave my house without my digital camera and need to start taking some shots of the night life around here too.
Wonderful looking through 3 year old and 7 year old eyes. Gives one a whole new perspective. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Kewl night shots. I need to get out more after dark but now it's too cold!
Love the photos, I need to visit New York, on my list of things to do!!!
I really like the third shot with the man sitting on the bench. It really pulls me in and makes me wonder what his story is. The lighting reminds me of a lot of old movies.
You did a very good job with all of these night time photos. Thanks for sharing
C-Tann - your minions eye-balls are alright:-) These are making me want to go home... good ole' 'shiny' city.
Heather, that is fantastic! My kids and I are always going at it over the cameras. They really like taking pictures. Let me know if you do come. We can hang. :-)
LMAO @ Candice. :-)
Claude, if you ever come please let me know so we can hang out. I'm with you on keeping cameras close by. Never know what great shot may be around the corner. :-)
LOL @ SarahGray. It's a deal, girlfriend. :-)
Carole, I am thinking of taking a drive out there by you one of these days. You can show me your fave places and we can go on an eye candy hunt together. :-)
Stephanie, I am looking forward to that. Please do. Send me links. :-)
Donna, can I come? (LOL) I need to get back over there by you guys. I will call and see if we can all hook up again for some more pizza. :-)
Margaret, I bet my boys are gonna love your yard. You will see them up close and personal rolling in the dirt to observe bugs (LOL).
Lizette, I know what you mean. A couple of days there I was really freezing my bahookies off (LOL).
John, I will send you a link. I have a few more really cool shots of this dude and he was a famous spy. I shall write about it. :-)
Thank you, Caron's Gateway. :-)
LOL @ Inna. Good ole shiny city indeed (LMAO). ;-)
