Step One: Take a traditional night shot and pay very close attention to the timing of your digital camera's aperture click of the shutter.
Step Two: Just before the shutter clicks shut, make a tiny serpentine movement with your camera to squiggle the lights.
Step Three: Repeat steps one and two until you get something interesting that you like. Discard the rest and post those puppys on your blog. Shall show you how you can blend it in with other images this afternoon using Photoshop. Yes. You now have homework (LOL). Don't own Photoshop? Go to the Adobe.com website and download a free 30 day trial so you can play with me.
Class is in session. :-)

Great tips thanks for sharing. Taking night photos have always made me nervous about the quality. Hope you have a prosperous new year.
C,
I am probably the worst night shooter there is. Any tips to help are appreciated.
Rich
My nite pics all look blurry without trying... Nice comparison pics... Thanks for sharing
Cool photo--- alot of my pictures look like that without trying! Thanks, Kathy
Charles, you are welcome.
Raylene, don't be nervous about the quality, just keep trying. :-)
Richard, I am going to show you guys how you can even have fun using blurry shots. :-)
Caron's Gateway, blurry pictures can be quite useful if you do a title overlay or merge them with other shots.
Kathy, you can still use them if you mix them with other shots. I will show you guys in a little while. I have to pause to chase Stephen. My 3 year old will not stay in the bed (LOL). :-)
Oh my goodness, C, you are like . . . one mad-crazy blogger! Fun photo tricks! Thanks for sharing.
