Silence...
I crave silence... I want the thoughts in my head to go away. I have things I'd like to get done and a lot of other things distracting me. Sometimes, when I watch my son Noah at work I wonder what he is experiencing while he sorts through his digital photographs. He is a cute little brooder and I love watching him quietly thinking his private thoughts. He has very expressive eyes when he's lost in a memory. It can be fun to watch his expressions if you do not disturb him and he remains unaware that he's being spied upon.
Noah took this shot and a host of others that I really need to post soon. I think his coffee book is going to be full of some very lovely eye candy.
I was spoofing on the shorties earlier, having a bit of blog post therapy, but I deleted the post because I found myself thinking it would be so much nicer to publish a quiet, simple little post while I curl up on the futon and pray for silence...
Stephen really, really needs to nap.
My left eye is twitching. I was on the phone with Sprint for 43 minutes. That's all I am going to say about it. Feel free to fill in the blanks (LOL). :-)

I love silence. Long before working from home was "stylish", I was doing it. I work twice as fast, and with greater accuracy when all is quiet =)

It takes practice and work, but unruly thoughts can be quieted. Taking in a pic like that is a good way...so fresh and pristine...

Richard, I am with you. I've been shopping digital press businesses to make limited edition posters for him. I'm thinking it would be nice to put up some of his work. He takes such interesting pictures. I like being able to see what he's interested in and this one is very soothing. :-)
JL, I would pay to have a quiet moment. My kids are noise makers (LOL). Noah is pretty cool because he can play simple computer games and entertain himself with YouTube. Stephen is crazy. He's diving off the furniture, flipping the rugs, dumping yogurt, messing with the tubes of acrylic. Dude crayoned his new sheets this morning. He's obsessing about drawing circles (LOL).
Jane, Step had very little to do with this one (LOL). Noah is the mastermind behind this shot. I'm still working on Stephen. He likes the camera but loves video because he can run with the video camera and still see what he shot. Noah takes blurry shots too, but he's getting really good at it so I am seeing less of them. :-)
Wendy, Noah turned 8 at the end of January and Stephen will be 4 at the end of April. I am trying to get them both into music classes and have been handling the art angle myself. We have been painting together all week. May have something very interesting to show you guys on Sunday if Stephen doesn't destoy it first. Little dude has been driving me absolutely crazy this week (LOL).
Ann, I've been stealing a quiet moment every chance I get. I am looking forward to sharing more of the wee people's art. Noah is going to make a stellar photographer. :-)
Carol, I hope Noah becomes very successful at it. He really enjoys taking pictures. He makes me laugh because every time we get in the car his first shot is always the keys in the ignition. :-)

Terry, we are enjoying the snow. It's melting very slowly. Temps have stayed in the thirties so the kids are thrilled because there are still a lot of cool spots to throw snow balls. :-)
I, too, relish the sounds of silence. Like Simon and Garfunkel. Or maybe like Frankie Valli: silence is golden. Although, sometimes when I'm in the midst of silence, tinnitus kicks in, and I get that low hum of a garage door opening. One of the disadvantages about getting older. But I move my lower jaw around, and the humming goes away. There is rarely total silence, though. You'll hear a clock ticking, a refrigerator running, a bird chirping in the distance.

Elizabeth, I know what you mean. I've been known to stick my fingers in my ears just to try and get a moment to clear my thoughts. My kids think it's a hoot and follow behind (making noise of course - LOL).

Thank you, Jennifer. He is really taking to digital photography. I love watching him work. He is such a Curious George kinda guy. I think I may have to make a run up to Pawling so I can walk in the woods and have a quiet moment. :-)
