I’ve shared before about the power of Google Docs, but not until I saw this video below did I even think half of this stuff was possible. While I consider myself an avid user of Google Docs, it appears there is so much more I can do with it that I have not yet even scratched the surface of.
Cloud computing and being able to share/store things on a server instead of just a single computer is growing daily and will continue to become the way of the future. The ability to share documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings and more on a server with anyone else is probably my absolute favorite reason I almost solely use Google Docs anymore for projects. If you aren’t yet convinced that you should try it out, watch the video below. I find simply brilliant. Thanks Google Demo Slam!

This is a wonderfully informative posting Jeremy. I hope you'll follow it with some how-to's or some How-To links to get the rest of us going! Suggested by a professional shot-caller!
Exploring more of Google docs has been on my list. Your post and information pushed it to the top of my list and learning curve. Thank you!
What an amazing use of google docs, or any program really. I did not know this could be done. I hope you will do some updates.
Hi Jeremy- I dipped my toe in the water with Google docs and am slowly not only uploading some existing files but have actually created spread sheets on Google docs. How secure is it? Would you put personal information on it?
Jeremy - Great post, you are absolutely correct. Google Docs should be in every Realtors tool box... I use it heavily...
Google docs
Rocks
Your socks!
Phil
(I was told to use it to compose blogs then cut and paste into AR)
Hi Jeremy - Google keeps improving Google Docs. It is amazing what it can do.
Kathy- It's as secure as everything else you do on the internet. It is Google :)
That is an awesome tool!!! Thanks for sharing!
Very cool demo. Kathy's concern about security has long been mine as well. It is hard to overcome that feeling that your docs can be hacked into when they are out there in the cloud. I think in time the fear that many have about it will be a thing of the past.
Way cool. Security has been a concern for me also. do you pass code everything, encrypt, etc.?
My kids are coming home showing me more and more stuff like this lately, now I will get to show them this one :)
Very cool stuff. I'm gonna go try it right now.
Thanks for the video - I love google apps!
Jeremy - I must admit: Hello, my name is Kim, and I am a Google Docs virgin.
Let me just add this to a growing list of things I need to look at incorporating into my business this year. ;)
I too had a fear of the "cloud" thanks so much for bringing this to my attention. I had no idea it could be such a robust tool. Google is really coming up in the world that is for sure!
Jeremy - I loved this video when I originally saw it on Demoslam.com. Amazing animation job that they did.
Jeremy, It looks like I will be checking out Google Docs this week. I already love Google Voice and Picasa.
Jeremy - Kinda fast for me. But i think I get that Google Docs has some reach. Pretty cool video
It IS amazing, but it's very clear to me that some people have WAY too much time on their hands!
I just use Google Docs for capturing buyer leads from some of my posts. I have a little over 30 potential buyers that get listings to their email inbox all because of a simple form created with Google Docs.
Wow, very impressive. I have way to much to learn.
Wow!!! I've been using GoogleDocs since it was Writely, but after seeing this presentation I see I'm in kindergarten with all this. Just what I need is one more thing to learn on my already overcrowded plate. Thanks. Bookmarking this for when I can take a breather.
Jeremy - I have so much to learn about it! Is that like a Power Point presentation in Google Docs?
I use Google Docs and obviously there is a lot of stuff I haven't even tried yet! Thanks Jeremy.
Hi Jeremy: Thank you so much for the great info. Gay
Wow, just 3 words for that: A - Freaking - Mazing!
I need a better lesson in google.docs I know people swear by it - and I know I should "get it" I just don't. I use them not nearly like the video -- felt like I was watching a portion of Disney's Fantasia.
That's pretty cool. Now I know that Google Docs can do this, but I guarantee you that I cannot ;-)
Jeremy, I almost got lost watching that 1:29 video. I get it that Google Docs is cool, you can create animations on it and all, but is it really necessary? I know it's impressive to us, but what would Joe Seller think about it?
Jeremy, I like the LET"S Rock the Google Docs! I am going to implement for my team.
Jeremy, I have decide some time back that I would not buy any MS products. Google is not perfect but close enough. The problem is keeping up and learning.
Jeremy - I am just blown away by the potential. If this stuff impresses you it is hard for me to begin to even imagine the possibilities. I have begun to use google.docs. The best is yet to come for sure!
Thanks Jeremy, you Rock!
I am learning from you, use Google Doc's put trying to use it more.
Jeremy,
Google docs seems to offer a lot to help eveyday in our offices. So glad that you wrote this.
Wow -cool video. I will have to dig deeper into Google Docs
Jeremy,
Just starting to use Google Docs and seeing the many benefits it has to offer.
Thank you!
I just recently started using google docs. It certainly makes life a whole lot easier.
Jeremy...
I just reformatted my hard drive and will be using Google Apps as my primary office suite.
Ditto. I use Google Docs too. Had no idea that you could do THIS with it! Thank You!
Wow! Thanks for all the comments! And a gold star! woohoo! For those wondering if I created the video. I wish I was that good, but unfortunately I am not. It was created over in Google Demo Slam & was featured TechCrunch recently.
Been using Ms since Lotus and Symphony. Have no idea how Google docs could do all this. Don't know what I will be missing if I change... but may be worth looking into. Thanks
Wow. That. Was. Awesome.
I was actually just sitting down to make a Google doc that I will share with people on my team. I send the link out to them and they fill in areas of their expertise, all on one live and evolving document. (maybe I should blog about it!)
Thanks, Jeremy!
Hi Jeremy,
Very cool video. I love the products that Google has to offer, but do you worry about Google knowing too much about you?
Jeremy-I've been on Active Rain every day since Christmas and I am overwhelmed. This is amazing. Have to go way down my list.
Thank you for sharing, Jeremy! You always have the best info!
I think I have been using about 1/100th of what this program offers. Looking forward to learning more, thank you for opening my eyes to more of the possibilities.
That's just great. But how about getting it to do a simple thing first.
Why can't I attach a Google Doc to an email that I am sending from my Gmail account? You would think that they would set it up so that you could browse your Google Docs and select the files that you want to attach to a Gmail. But Nooooo. You have to go to Google Docs and create an email from there and then send it.
I also have tried doing graphs with their spreadsheets and I found that if the spreadsheet gets a little large and complex, it really gets bogged down and is a real pain in the butt to work with.
Before they go and get all fancy, I'd like them to get the basics working better than they currently are.
We have just started using google docs, and i was wondering if you have a suggestion for learning how to use it to its fullest potential. Thank you in advance for the help :)
No, I didn't know. How unbelievably cool.
That's amazing Jeremy. Who knew it could do ALL of that? I use Google Docs a bit, but obviously haven't even scratched the surface!
Great video, Jeremy! I love all of the Google Apps...and the fact that I can have it on my iPhone is wonderful...I love that app especially ;-) Great post, way to bring Google Docs into the light!
Good stuff Jeremy.
Thanks for sharing it. Although I'm a big fan of Google and cloud computing, I still prefer to store all on my laptop in the event an internet connection isn't possible during my travels.
Neat video and Google has so much to offer in so many areas! Wish my brain could inhale it all and make it work! Thanks for sharing.
Sue of Robin and Sue
that was so cool.
I am going to have to use google docs more. I had no idea it was so powerful.
WOW! I had no idea!! I have gotten the little blips...but just clicked them away...I am going to utilize it now!! Thanks for sharing! :)
This is phenomenal! I agree that Google docs is great. It's all free too. I just recently found out about it when I was at the library looking for another book to check out and came across a book that was all about free programs that could be used instead of the Microsoft group. It's amazing and I'm glad someone wrote about this.
I'm going to bookmark this and come back. I am interested in using Google Docs more.
Hi Jeremy~ The only thing I use google docs for is to open up an attachement that my computer has trouble with! Had no clue about what else it could be used for!
I was surprised when I first saw this video as well. I began researching about google docs and found some useful tricks. If your creating your own website and need a great contact form you can create one through google docs. you can set all your own fields and once it's submitted google will notify you and you can see what was filled out. Here's a link to one i've made for Selling
https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dHVZdmxaTmI0MTFIanhFX0g0MUdqMlE6MQ
great post.
Very pretty pictures. How do you envision it being used to service real estate clients? --JM
Jeremy,
That was great. I will check into Google Doc's soon.
Uau.. I am impressed... I will definitively look into Google Docs... Thank you for sharing... By the way, I didn't understand the presentation in the video... What was the product they were selling? :O)
Amazing! I just learned about IGoogle this weekend and use Google Doc's as a gadget. Google is the efficient tool ever. Thanks for sharing this.
Jeremy - You are one of my tech gurus so if you say its good, I am on board! I am bookmarking and will watch this when I get to the office.
Betsy
The best of it. .is that I have my presentation on google docs and I use my iPad to show them anytime. .anywhere
Jeremy,
Very cool presentation. I also believe in cloud computing, but spend most of my time on my earth bound Macs. Just seems to build better presentation, but it wont be long till the cloud catches up.
-Brent
Thanks for this great presentation. I have it bookmarked.
Jeremy, Google Docs looks pretty robust for a free app. I will check it out. Thanks.
WOW. Amazing! I need to check into this more. Have used googledocs for some school volunteer things for my kids school events...but this is very cool. Wonder what the learning curve is for this??
Holy cow! Google is king.
I use Google docs and love them. I just started using the slides and am working on my listing presentation to be directly from those slides. So very awesome.
Jeremy. Google docs are the best thing since sliced bread. I've been using them for several years now. The ability to share docs is atremendous help to me buisness.
Great video!!
I do use google docs but prefer dropbox for most things. Giving too much of my life to Google still scares me.
Very, very cool Jeremy. It's amazing the more and more things that you can do with the power of almighty Google.
Wow, that video is awesome! I've read you previous posts about Google Docs but for some reason haven't actually gone and checked it .....I'm going, I'm going....you've convinced me. No really, thanks for the post it's just the motivation I needed.
Stop it!! I'm giong to have to check that out now! Thanks for the great post, keep em coming!
Here's the thing about security. Seen a LOT of comments about a concern. If you email a word document or PDF file to a client there is the same security risks there as sharing the document in the cloud. Someone can hack email address, and the servers who host your email account can see every detail that comes across it. There's always a trail that could be followed if necessary.
Personally, i don't think there's anything to really worry about.
Wow, very cool! I had no idea that you could do so much with Google Docs. All hail Google!
Google Apps is also pretty impressive, but costs a little cash. We use it for a non-profit that I run, but see how it could be a killer tool for real estate teams.
Jeremy, thanks for the post. I agree with you from your response above (in #89) that security shouldn't be a concern. Emails are generally assumed to be private communication between you and your client/team but instead should be more likened to mailing a post card. It's as private as a post card is.
Collaborative apps such as Google Docs at least are password protected by Google's sign-in process.
Can you do a post on a few examples of how this can help us all? Sharing one live file and team editing is one use. How could we help our clients?
Here's one way for you Conrad! Using Google Docs to Generate Leads
Thanks Jeremy, that's clever!
Jeremy - that is cool - I have really been getting into Google Docs lately - Google will rule the world very soon:)
